Catastrophic rains have caused huge flooding that has destroyed the homes and livelihoods of millions in Pakistan since July this year.
Hectares of agricultural land and crops have been flooded with a huge number of livestock dead. People have lost their livelihoods and are now totally dependent on humanitarian aid. People are in immediate need of water, food, medical assistance, and shelter. The poorest and most vulnerable are desperate.
Over 1,000 people have died, many thousands injured and Millions displaced in 3 months
The Raza Foundation has been working in the effected areas providing much needed emergency aid using Relief Camps however, as the waters recede and winter approaches, the rebuild now begins.
With the help of local beneficiaries, we are constructing family homes that are resistant to future flooding. These houses consist of 1 bedroom, 1 multi-purpose living room, an open kitchen and 1 bathroom. The building will have a three-foot foundation and cemented floor, complete with walls of steel reinforced concrete brick and a Therma-Cool roof, on 2 levels. The houses will be electrically cabled and plumbed with basic accessories installed.
Builds One Complete House (1 Bedroom, 1 Multi-purpose Living Room, 1 Bathroom and a Kitchen)
Our vision is to provide families with homes that are built to a high specification using locally sourced materials and labour giving them a fighting chance to start-over.
